IT support across many locations
In 2008 Rhyal Engineering underwent significant growth which meant that their IT requirements were changing as Edna Holmes explained. “The growth meant that we needed to find an IT partner that could provide the necessary advice, expertise and support that would support us not only now, but also going forward.

Common desktop increases user productivity
To facilitate working on Rhyal’s different sites around the country, BCC consultants recommended the implementation of a hosted desktop through Citrix XenApp. The industry-leading solution for virtual application delivery, XenApp provides Windows applications to workers on any device, anywhere with an appropriate internet connection. It enables centralised control that gives employees the freedom of mobility while increasing security and reducing IT costs.
“Our employees can move from site to site and no matter where they log in, they are presented with the exact same desktop and with familiar access to applications and files. All of which means they are immediately productive from the moment they log on.”
Because applications and data are centralised and accessed through VPN, sensitive information is secure and the risk of data loss or intrusion through unsecured connections is reduced.
One-stop shop for all IT and telecoms requirements
To further improve efficiency, reduce costs and improve security BCC moved Rhyal’s email system from an in-house server to a hosted Microsoft Exchange setup. “Email is an important business tool for us,” said Edna, “and now it is much more resilient and always available when we need it. We just rely on it being there and working all the time.”
In 2013 Rhyal were looking to upgrade their telephone system and asked BCC to help. After analysing current and likely future requirements they recommended the installation of a new Panasonic solution. The Panasonic range of products perfectly compliment IT infrastructure offerings from major technology vendors like HP, Cisco, Citrix and Microsoft and so were an ideal fit for Rhyal.
“It makes life a lot easier now that BCC manage our telephone system as well,” explained Edna. “It now means we have almost a one-stop shop for all our IT hardware, software and communication systems requirements.
