About Award Winning Ferry Cake Marketing and PR
Award winning marketing and PR Ferry Cake Consultancy was founded by Michelle Beer, an MSc. e-Commerce (Business) graduate in November 2014.
From her focus on digital transformation, and her love for the beautiful, Welsh coastal village of Ferryside and divine cakes, Ferry Cake Marketing and PR Consultancy was formed.
Michelle graduated from law school in 2001 having completed postgraduate legal studies; however, preferring a career in business to law, she went on to develop her business and marketing skills by gaining a business degree and achieving professional development in e-Marketing with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK).
In 2008, she successfully led and completed an 18-month "Digital Marketing Knowledge Transfer Partnership" project between an educational establishment and a growing manufacturing/retail business, Burns Pet Nutrition. The knowledge she gained was shared with MBA Business and Management students.
In addition, she is a Business Wales mentor and a Big Ideas Wales role model. She has a keen interest in new technology and information and communications technology (ICT), and researching and developing creative solutions and strategies to meet different sectors’ and projects’ needs.
In 2015 Michelle co-founded with Becca Rosenthal of Rivki Rose Training, Llanelli's first women in networking group to provide support and learning to both women in the workplace and in business, with a monthly meeting for breakfast or dinner at Machynys Golf and Spa. An active member of the Carmarthenshire's Women in Rural Enterprise network as well as being involved in many other business networks in both Carmathenshire and Swansea. In her first year of business, she was shortlisted for the national Biz Mums awards for 'Networking Mum of the Year'.
Michelle's vision for the business is not only to support businesses and organisations with their marketing and PR but also to offer opportunities to young people to develop their digital skills and expertise, through the means of work placements, apprenticeships and training. She currently delivers and developed the Digital Marketing Apprenticeship - level 4 in partnership with a leading training provider Swansea ITeC.
To be able to support as many small businesses as possible on a voluntary basis, Michelle created Shout Out Wales on Twitter to help promote Welsh businesses. It now currently have almost 10,000 followers, predominately welsh businesses and supported over 600 welsh businesses with regular shouts out on social media since 2016.
In 2016, Michelle won Swansea Bay Women In Business - New Start Up Awards, for a training start up company she co-founded. And in 2017, saw Michelle pick up the Creative Award for Ferry Cake Marketing and PR at the Carms Means Biz Awards held at the Corran Resort and Spa.
